Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 24 September 2026

Please read these terms carefully. By using this website, sending us an enquiry, placing an order or leaving a piece with us for service, you agree to them.

1. Who you are dealing with

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Mita Impex, a business based in Surat, Gujarat, India, contactable at mitaimpex@gmail.com and +91 91739 37210. "You", "your", "user" and "visitor" mean anyone visiting this website or dealing with us.

Mita Impex trades under two brand names on this one website, and these terms govern both equally and identically:

  • Angikaar — adornment for deities, and the polishing, cleaning, repair and remaking services.
  • Mita Jewel — silver and fashion jewellery for personal wear.

The brand name displayed on a page is a presentation choice; your contract is with Mita Impex in every case, and Mita Impex carries the obligations in these terms regardless of which brand a piece was browsed under. Equally, the rights and remedies below are yours in full whichever side of the catalogue you bought from.

2. The website

The content of this website is for general information and is subject to change without notice. We take care to describe our work accurately, but we do not warrant that every description, photograph, measurement or availability statement is complete, current or free of error, and we exclude liability for such errors to the fullest extent the law permits.

This website does not operate a checkout. Nothing on it is an offer capable of acceptance — prices and availability are confirmed by us directly, in writing, before any order begins.

3. Handmade work and natural variation

Every piece we make is worked by hand. Small differences in finish, weight, colour, chasing and stone tone between one piece and the next — and between a piece and its photograph — are inherent to handmade silver and are not defects. Photographs are taken under studio lighting and colours may render differently on your screen. Where a weight is quoted it is an estimate until the piece is finished, and the final weight is confirmed to you before despatch.

4. Orders, quotes and custom work

For a custom piece we confirm the design, a weight estimate and a price before we begin. Work starts only once you approve those in writing (a WhatsApp or email confirmation is sufficient).

You are responsible for the measurements and design details you give us. For an idol adornment this includes the idol's height and the relevant head, ear, waist or seat measurements; for jewellery it includes ring, bangle, ankle and chain sizing. We will tell you how to measure if you ask. A piece made correctly to a measurement you supplied incorrectly is not a fault on our side, though we will always do what we reasonably can to adjust it.

Once a custom piece is in production it cannot be cancelled, because it is being made for you alone. See our Refund & Returns Policy for what happens in each case.

5. Service work — polishing, cleaning, repair and remaking

When you leave a piece with us for service, we issue a receipt recording the piece, its weight and its condition on arrival. Please check it and keep it — it is what you present to collect the piece and to claim under the guarantee.

We will tell you before starting if a piece is fragile, previously repaired, hollow-filled, stone-set in a way that restricts cleaning, or otherwise at risk, and we will proceed only with your agreement. Antique, plated or lacquered surfaces may not survive cleaning in their existing finish; where that is a real possibility we will say so first.

Our two-year shine guarantee. Every cleaning and polishing job we take on carries a written two-year guarantee: if the finish dulls within that period through no misuse, we restore it at no cost to you. The guarantee covers the finish we applied. It does not cover physical damage, denting, loss of stones, exposure to chemicals, or work done on the piece by anyone else in the meantime.

Pieces not collected within 90 days of us notifying you that they are ready may attract reasonable storage charges. We will make repeated attempts to contact you before that point, and we will never dispose of a piece without written notice.

6. Prices, payment and silver rates

Silver is priced against a daily metal rate, so a quote is valid only for the period we state in it — usually 48 hours. Prices are in Indian Rupees. Making charges, stone charges, plating, engraving and applicable taxes are itemised in your quote. We take payment directly; this website processes no payments. We will never ask you for an OTP, a UPI PIN or a card number.

7. Delivery and risk

Despatch, timelines, insurance and risk of loss are set out in our Shipping & Delivery Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Hallmarking and purity

Where a piece is described as 925 sterling silver or 999 fine silver, that is the purity of the silver used and we will confirm hallmarking status for that piece on request. Items described as plated, gold-finish, antique-finish, silver-over-base or as containing bamboo, wood or non-silver components are described as such on their product pages, and those descriptions are what govern.

9. Intellectual property

This website and its contents — the design, layout, text, graphics and all photographs of our work — are owned by or licensed to Mita Impex and are protected by copyright. The names Angikaar and Mita Jewel, and the marks and wordmarks used on this site, are ours. You may not reproduce, redistribute or use any of it commercially without our prior written consent. Unauthorised use may give rise to a claim for damages.

A small number of category photographs are licensed from third parties under Creative Commons terms and are credited on our Image Credits page; those images are governed by their own licences, not by this clause.

Designs you commission from us remain available to us as part of our general craft repertoire unless we have agreed otherwise in writing; we will not, however, publish photographs of your piece without asking you first.

10. Your use of this website

You agree not to use this website unlawfully, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, to scrape or republish its content systematically, or to use it in any way that damages or impairs it for others. You may link to our home page; you may not frame the site or present it as your own.

11. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with any order or service is limited to the amount you paid us for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Indian law.

12. Third-party links and services

This site links to WhatsApp, Instagram, email and other third-party services for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information — their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our business or the law changes. The version in force for your order is the version published on the date you confirmed it. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows the current version.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute arising from your use of this website or any purchase or engagement with Mita Impex, are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Surat, Gujarat have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any right you have under consumer protection law to bring proceedings where you live.
