Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Mita Impex collects through this website, why we collect it, how we use and store it, and the choices you have. It applies to everything on this domain, without exception.

Who we are

This website is owned and operated by Mita Impex, a silver manufacturing and retail business based in Surat, Gujarat, India. Mita Impex is the data controller responsible for the information described here, and the party you contract with when you place an order.

Mita Impex trades under two brand names, and this single policy covers both equally:

• Angikaar — silver adornment for deities: aangi, mukut, kundal, pagdi, chhatra, idols, singhasan, puja articles and the polishing, cleaning and remaking services.
• Mita Jewel — 925 silver and fashion jewellery for you: necklace sets, earrings, bangles, payal, rings, pendants, chains, mangalsutra and baby silver.

Both brands are the same company, the same workshop and the same people. Whichever brand name a page is showing when you contact us, your information is held by Mita Impex and handled exactly as set out below — it is not passed between "two businesses", because there is only one.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to answer an enquiry or complete an order. Depending on what you do, that may include:

• Your name
• Your email address, phone number and WhatsApp number
• Your delivery address and pin code
• The measurements, reference photographs and design notes you send us for a custom piece — including photographs of your idol or of jewellery you want matched, repaired or remade
• The details of any piece you leave with us for polishing, cleaning, repair or remaking, including its weight, condition and the receipt reference we issue
• The content of your messages to us, and our replies
• Basic technical information your browser sends when you visit — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type — used only in aggregate to understand which pages are useful

We do not ask for, and you should never send us, payment card numbers, UPI PINs, bank passwords or OTPs. No one from Mita Impex will ever ask you for an OTP or a PIN.

How you share it with us

This website does not run a checkout and does not take payments online. Every enquiry form and every product page hands the conversation to WhatsApp, a phone call or email. That means the information you send us is transmitted through the messaging service you chose, and that service's own privacy policy applies to it in transit alongside this one.

What we do with it

We use your information to:

• Understand your enquiry and prepare a quote, sketch or weight estimate
• Make, size, engrave, polish or remake the piece you have asked for
• Arrange insured despatch and keep you updated on it
• Keep the records a business is required to keep — order, job-card, service and tax records
• Honour our written two-year shine guarantee, which needs the original job on file
• Answer questions and resolve any complaint
• Send you occasional updates about new work or festival offers — only if you have asked us to, and you can stop this at any time by telling us so

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with those who need it to complete what you asked for:

• Courier and logistics partners — your name, address and phone number, so the piece can be delivered
• Specialist craftspeople we occasionally work with on stone setting, plating or engraving — only the piece details needed for the work
• Our accountant and tax authorities — where required to keep proper books and file returns
• Law enforcement or a court — where we are legally obliged to disclose

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become orders are kept for up to two years, then deleted. Order, service and job-card records are kept for eight years, which covers both the statutory record-keeping period and the life of our two-year shine guarantee with margin. Reference photographs of your idol or jewellery are deleted once the job is complete and the guarantee period has passed, unless you ask us to keep them for future work.

Your rights

You may ask us, at any time and free of charge, to: tell you what information we hold about you; correct anything that is wrong; delete your information where we are not required to keep it; or stop sending you marketing messages. Write to mitaimpex@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the matter to the relevant data protection authority in India.

Photographs of your pieces

We sometimes photograph completed work for our gallery, website and social media. If your piece is one we would like to show, we ask you first — and a no costs you nothing and changes nothing about your order. If a photograph of your piece is already published and you would like it taken down, tell us and we will remove it.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses only what it needs to function, plus basic aggregate traffic measurement to tell us which pages people find useful. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not build an advertising profile of you. Your browser stores a small preference for which brand face you were last viewing, which never leaves your device. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work.

Security

We keep your information on access-controlled devices and accounts, share it only as described above, and limit it to the people who need it to do the work. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — but if a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Where we make baby silver or a naming-ceremony gift, we deal with the parent or guardian placing the order.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted here.
