Ordering & custom work
How an enquiry becomes a finished piece.
How do I order a custom aangi or mukut?
- Send clear photos of your idol and its measurements — head circumference, head height and total idol height — on WhatsApp. We reply with a design sketch, a weight estimate and a price. Once you approve, the piece is handcrafted, polished and fitted before dispatch.
Can I buy directly on the website?
- No. There is no online checkout, because silver is priced against the daily metal rate and most pieces are made to a measurement. Every enquiry goes to WhatsApp, phone or email, and you get a written quote with the weight and making charges itemised before anything begins.
How long does a custom piece take?
- Custom deity adornment typically takes two to five weeks, depending on the design, the stonework and the current load on the bench. Made-to-size jewellery takes three to seven days, and ready-stock gifts dispatch in one to two working days. You get a firm date with your quote.
Can you copy a design I have seen somewhere else?
- Usually yes, if you send a clear photograph. We work from reference images routinely and can adapt a design to your idol's proportions. We will tell you honestly if a design cannot be made at your size, or if the metal would be too thin to survive handling.
Do you take bulk or temple orders?
- Yes. We make matched sets for temple committees, trusts and corporate gifting, and bulk work is quoted per piece with the making charge reduced by quantity. Lead times are longer for matched sets, because every piece has to be chased by the same hand to look identical.
Can I see the piece before it ships?
- Yes. We send photographs of the finished piece before dispatch, and for custom work we send progress photographs at the shaping stage too. If something is not what you approved at the sketch stage, we correct it before it leaves the workshop.
Measurements & fit
The numbers we need, and what to do if you cannot take them.
What measurements do you need for a mukut?
- Three: the head circumference at the widest point where the crown will rest, the head height from hairline to crown, and the total height of the idol. Those three numbers let us build the inner rim to fit exactly, so the mukut sits without slipping or pinching.
What if I cannot measure my idol?
- Send photographs from the front and both sides with a ruler, a coin or a matchbox beside the idol for scale. We can work backwards from good reference photographs. A rough measurement with a thread, then laid against a ruler, also works perfectly well.
Will the mukut fit if my idol is an unusual shape?
- Yes, because nothing is made to a standard size. Crowns for idols with a high ushnisha, a carved headdress or an uneven crown are shaped over a form built to your measurements. Send photographs of the head from several angles and we will tell you what is possible.
How do I find my ring, bangle or anklet size?
- For a ring, measure the inside diameter of one that fits, in millimetres. For a bangle or kada, measure across the widest part of your hand with the thumb tucked in. For an anklet, measure around the ankle bone and add about two centimetres for movement.
Silver, purity & hallmarking
What the metal actually is.
Is your jewellery real 925 sterling silver?
- Yes. Our silver jewellery is hallmark-quality 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver alloyed with copper for strength. The metal and the finish are stated on every piece, and the weight is itemised on your bill so you can check what you paid for.
What is the difference between 925 and 999 silver?
- 925 silver is 92.5% pure, alloyed with copper so it is hard enough to hold a shape — it is used for jewellery and ornaments. 999 silver is 99.9% pure and soft enough to mark with a fingernail, so it is used only for coins and bars that are stored, not worn.
Are your pieces hallmarked?
- Our silver jewellery is hallmark-quality 925 and carries the purity stamp. Hallmarking in India is administered by the Bureau of Indian Standards and is currently mandatory for gold rather than silver; we state the purity and the weight in writing on every bill regardless.
Do you work in gold as well as silver?
- Our workshop is a silver bench, and that is what we do best. Many pieces are offered gold-plated over silver for a two-tone festive finish, and we quote solid gold work on request. The metal you choose travels with your enquiry when you pick it on a product page.
Why does silver turn black?
- Silver reacts with sulphur compounds in the air and forms a dark surface film called tarnish. It is a surface change, not damage — the metal underneath is unaffected and polishing removes it completely. Humidity, camphor smoke and incense residue all make it happen faster.
Polishing, cleaning & the guarantee
The service half of the workshop.
What does the 2-year shine guarantee cover?
- Every cleaning and polishing job we take on carries a written two-year guarantee. If the finish dulls within that period through normal use, we restore it at no cost to you. The guarantee covers our finishing work; it does not cover physical damage or misuse.
Can you clean silver that has gone completely black?
- Yes. Heavy tarnish is routine work and comes off completely — black silver is not ruined silver. Bring or send the piece rather than scrubbing it at home, because household abrasives take the polish and the fine chasing off along with the tarnish.
Can you repair, remake or exchange old silver?
- Yes. We clean, re-stone, repair and remake older ornaments at the same bench where new pieces are made, and we accept old silver in exchange against new work. Remaking is quoted on the recovered weight, so you see exactly what your old piece is worth.
How should I clean silver at home between services?
- Wipe pieces with a soft dry cotton cloth after use to lift oils and kumkum, and store them wrapped in acid-free tissue away from humidity. Never use toothpaste, scouring powder or a metal brush — they scratch the polish and wear down the chasing permanently.
Do you polish pieces you did not make?
- Yes. Most of the polishing and restoration that comes through the workshop is on pieces made elsewhere, including inherited ornaments and temple articles decades old. The two-year shine guarantee applies to our finishing work on those exactly as it does on our own pieces.
Pricing & payment
Why there are no prices on the site.
Why are there no prices listed?
- Because silver is quoted against the daily metal rate, any price published here would be wrong the next morning. You get a written quote itemising the metal weight, making charge, stone and plating costs and applicable taxes. A quote holds for about 48 hours.
How much does silver polishing cost?
- Polishing is quoted per piece, on the size, the state of the tarnish and the amount of fine chasing that has to be worked around. Send a photograph on WhatsApp and we will quote it the same day. There is no charge for the quote.
What payment methods do you accept?
- Cash, UPI, bank transfer and credit or debit cards. Custom work normally starts against a part payment with the balance due before dispatch; the split is stated on your quote. Everything is billed with the metal weight and making charges itemised.
Will you buy back silver coins and bars?
- Yes. Coins and bars bought from us are taken back at the prevailing silver rate on the day you bring them in. Jewellery and ornaments are a different matter — those are valued on recovered metal weight, because the making charge cannot be recovered.
Delivery, returns & care
Do you deliver across India?
- Yes, we ship insured across India. Ready-stock gifts dispatch in one to two working days, made-to-size jewellery in three to seven, and custom deity adornment when the piece is finished. You get a tracking number at dispatch and photographs of the piece before it is packed.
Do you ship internationally?
- Not as a standard service. We have sent pieces abroad for customers who arrange their own courier or carry them personally, and we will pack and document a piece for that. Ask before ordering and we will tell you honestly what is involved.
Can I return a piece?
- Ready-stock gifts can be returned unused in their original packaging; the refund policy page sets out the window and the process. Custom and made-to-measure work cannot be returned, because it is cut to one idol or one wearer — which is why we send photographs for approval first.
How do I look after a silver aangi on a daily-worship idol?
- Remove the ornaments before abhishek, dry them fully before putting them back, and wipe them with a soft dry cloth after each use. Daily-worship pieces tarnish faster than stored ones; most shrines send theirs for a professional polish once or twice a year.
Gifting
What is a good silver gift for a naming ceremony?
- A silver plate-and-bowl set, a pair of payal, or a small engraved keepsake are the traditional choices for a naming ceremony or a first birthday. All three are ready stock, gift-boxed, and can be engraved with the child's name and date before dispatch.
Do you engrave gifts?
- Yes, on most flat-surfaced pieces — coins, bars, plates, frames and keepsakes. Engraving adds a day or two to dispatch and is charged per piece. Send the exact text and the spelling you want when you enquire, because engraving cannot be undone.
Is a silver coin a good gift for Diwali?
- Yes, and it is the most common one we send. Lakshmi-Ganesh coins in 999 fine silver are traditional for Dhanteras and Diwali, come gift-boxed, and are bought back at the prevailing rate later. Bulk orders for staff or clients are quoted per piece.
