Shipping & Delivery Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

Every order placed with Mita Impex — under either the Angikaar or Mita Jewel name, and including everything in the Gifts range — is despatched from our workshop in Surat, Gujarat under the terms on this page. This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

Where we deliver

We deliver to every serviceable pin code in India. We do not currently ship silver internationally; if you are ordering from abroad for delivery to an Indian address, that is no problem — tell us and we will arrange it.

How long it takes

Lead time is the making time plus the transit time, and the making time is what varies:

  • Ready-stock pieces — coins, bars, keepsakes, frames, showpieces and in-stock jewellery: despatched within 1–2 working days of payment.
  • Made-to-size jewellery — payal, bangles, rings and chains cut to your size: typically 3–7 working days before despatch.
  • Custom deity adornment — aangi, mukut, kandora, chhatra, singhasan and engraved work: typically 2–5 weeks depending on the size, the chasing and the stone work. We confirm a date with your quote and keep you updated.
  • Service work — polishing, cleaning, repair and remaking: quoted per job when we see the piece.

Transit is usually 2–5 working days once despatched, longer for remote pin codes. Festival weeks — Diwali, Dhanteras, wedding season — run longer at both ends, and we will say so at the time rather than after.

Packing and insurance

Silver is packed in tarnish-resistant wrap inside a rigid box, sealed, and despatched through a reputable courier in discreet outer packaging that does not advertise its contents. Every consignment travels insured for its full invoice value at our cost. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery, not on despatch — until the parcel is in your hands, a loss in transit is ours to resolve.

Charges

Shipping and insurance are quoted with your order and shown separately on the invoice. Charges depend on the weight and the destination. We often absorb them on larger orders — ask.

Tracking

You receive the courier name and tracking number by WhatsApp or email on the day of despatch. If tracking has not moved for 48 hours, tell us and we will chase the courier ourselves rather than send you to do it.

Delivery, addresses and attempts

Please give a complete address with a landmark and a phone number that will be answered — most delayed deliveries come down to an unreachable number. Couriers usually make up to three attempts. A parcel returned to us because it could not be delivered, or because it was refused without cause, can be resent at your cost for the second despatch.

If a parcel arrives damaged

Check the outer packaging before you accept it. If the seal is broken, the box is crushed or the weight feels wrong, photograph it before opening and refuse the delivery if you can, then tell us the same day. If you only notice after opening, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photographs of the packaging and the piece. Claims are handled under our Refund & Returns Policy and we deal with the courier and the insurer ourselves — that is not your job.

Workshop collection

You are welcome to collect from the workshop in Surat by appointment, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm. Bring the invoice or the service receipt. Collection costs nothing.
